There has already been written a lot about emerging technologies regarding autonomous robots and drones. Both the advantages and the dangers have been addressed. Although most of these technologies are being advertised as instruments to protect and save people, it doesn’t take a scientist to figure out that the opposite can also be true.
According to a Wired article from May 22, 2013, it’s now time “to debate killer robot ethics before they become mass market,” while the Campaign to Stop Killer Robots, launched in April 2013, calls for a pre-emptive and comprehensive ban on fully autonomous weapons.
So what exactly is being developed?
